I have been flying a lot with different airlines for the past 12 years, however the situation SAS put me in on my last trip from Vienna to Brussels via Copenhagen was outrageous. SAS offers online check-in, which I find very convenient and always do. Respectively I checked-in for both flights SK696 and SK597 and got my boarding pass. Yet at Vienna airport it came to unexplicable problems with boarding and I got an old fashioned boarding pass at the counter, just like some other passeners did. Technical problems happen everywhere and normally, when announced, find enough understanding. But no one apologiesed or drew the passengers` attention to the fact that the seats may have been changed. Being confident that the new boarding pass was an exact copy of the online print-out I proceeded to my seat only to find myself in an extremely unpleasent situation. Five minutes after I took my seat there was a woman standing before me and screaming `That`s my seat!`. When I contested that and showed her my boarding pass it turned out that my seat 11C had been changed to 11B - and all this without a single word from the airlines staff! The flight attendants also seemed not to notice anything! I gave my seat to the woman only to realise later that she was travelling with a group of other 3 women who were all sitting together, in one raw, and my seat was needed for them to chat! Not an unusual situation when families and groups of friends are travelling together and I have never seen a person yet who would not change the seat when approached. However, no one asked me and I had a feeling that exactly that had been done behind my back to cater to the whishes of other passangers. All this brings it to two questions. 1. What is the point of online check-in if the seat chosen and allocated can be arbitrary changed at any time without even announcing it, not mentioning apologising? 2. To what extent are the passengers on SAS are treated fair?

I was perfectly satisfied with all three flights in every respect. However, I did not feel comfortable with the questionnaire approach. For example, how can I assess the ability of the staff in conflict resolution? I did not notice any conflict and therefore cannot comment on it. Such a questionnaire should always include the possible answer `does not apply`. Yes, I would use Kiss&Fly again and certainly do approve of SAS.
